Transit on its metal for Ford’s 100th birthday
Ford has launched a limited edition version of its best-selling Transit van, as part of the centenary celebrations for Ford of Britain.
The variant of the Transit SportVan model gains a metallic silver and graphite paint scheme.
SportVan extras included range across Le Mans-style graphite bonnet stripes, twin exhausts, 18-inch graphite colour alloy wheels, low profile 235/45 tyres, front and rear lower spoilers, side skirts and extended wheel arches.
Inside there is velour trim, air conditioning, a Sony radio/CD with DAB and remote steering-column-mounted controls, Bluetooth, cruise control, power windows, powered and heated mirrors, leather steering wheel, tinted glass, leather gearshift knob and a perimeter alarm.
The model is based on the short-wheelbase Transit 260 with front-wheel-drive and a 138bhp 2.2-litre TDCi diesel engine and six-speed transmission.
Just 180 examples of the metallic SportVan are on sale, costing £23,670 each.
