Lexus shows face of Detroit coupe concept

Lexus shows face of Detroit coupe conceptLexus has revealed more details of the LF-LC sports coupe that will be unveiled at next week’s Detroit Motor Show.

First featured on CarandVanNews last month, the car is strongly predicted to go into production by 2015, despite Lexus claiming it is merely a design exercise.

The car follows the latest Lexus L-Finesse design language, with elements of the LF-Gh concept seen at the New York motor show, and the Lexus LFA supercar, visible in the styling.

A production car would be pitched as a rival to the Mercedes SL and would include a hybrid powertrain.

The 2+2 concept has been created at the Lexus Calty design studio in Newport Beach, California.

It is described by Lexus group vice president and general manager Mark Templin as being; “crafted from a clean sheet of paper at the request of Lexus headquarters in Japan.”
