Geneva show – Pillarless doors for Ford B-Max, pillarless price?
Star of Ford’s Geneva stand is the new B-Max mini-MPV, replacing the Fusion.
The car’s unique door system is attracting wide attention among showgoers.
The B-Max combines wide-opening front doors with sliding rear doors and has no pillar between them.
This makes it a very easy car to get in and out of, creating a very wide side space with all doors open.
However the car could sell equally well on its price – Ford is pitching it at an aggressive £12,995 starting point.
Order books are open now for the B-Max, and it will be in showrooms in September. The timescale is to allow production build up at the new Romanian plant in which the car is being built.
Also on the Ford stand are performance ST versions of both the Focus and Fiesta.
