Geneva show – Dacia MPV may not be logical choice
Romanian manufacturer Dacia unveiled its Lodgy MPV at the Geneva show, but it won’t necessarily be part of the brand’s UK launch next year.
The budget cars will be sold through the UK dealerships of Dacia’s owner Renault from 2013.
Initially on offer will be the Duster and Sandero – the former is an SUV, the latter a supermini.
The Lodgy is available in five or seven-seat form but few further details have yet been released, with no information on the powerplants. However it could use the 1.6-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel units used in the Duster and Sandero.
It also has not been confirmed whether Dacia will build the car in right-hand-drive form for sale in the UK.
