Bold new Kia Carens to debut in Paris
The third-generation car is expected to be a world away from its predecessors, which were always considered capable but dull.
The Carens is the work of Kia’s recently-appointed chief designer Peter Schreyer and the sketches suggest dramatic styling closely related to the C’eed hatchback.
Kia says that the car has been conceived around the theme ‘dynamic space’.
It is promised to have a completely fresh, sleek, cab-forward design, lower roofline, longer wheelbase, larger wheels and chrome beltline accent.
“The new Carens will combine striking looks with spacious functionality and an emotional appeal that has become a standard feature of Kia products,” the brand’s release states.
There are no details of engines, but the car is thought likely to have a similar line-up to the current C’eed. It is also expected to be offered in five and seven-seat versions, as with previous Carens models.
