More power to Fiat’s 500 Abarth
Fiat’s 500 Abarth is getting a couple of new performance options, together with a price-cut for its entry-level version.
The new variants will be called the 595 Turismo and the 595 Competizione.
Offered in both hatch and convertible form, both models will use a 160bhp version of the turbocharged 1.4 T-Jet engine.
Meanwhile the original Abarth 500 gains a new colour option, more standard equipment has been added, and a price cut of £500.
It will still be offered with the ‘esseesse’ higher performance option as a dealer upgrade kit, and like the two new variants will be available with a manual of the MTA (Manual Transmission Automated) semi-automatic gearbox.
Both newcomers get various sporty details such as red brake calipers and aluminium add-ons, along with 17-inch alloy wheels and Xenon headlights. Turismo additional features include uprated dampers, leather trim and climate control, the Competizione sporty Sabelt fabric seats and a sports exhaust.
The 500 starts from £13,975 (£15,875 for the convertible). Turismo versions are £17,725 (convertible £19,625) and the Competizione £18,725 (£20,625 for the convertible).
