Key features: New Ecoboost engine, clever chassis, budget price

Ford has announced a £24 million investment in its engine plant in Bridgend, south Wales.

The money, £12 million of which is being supplied by the Welsh Assembly government, will enable the building of new 1.5-litre EcoBoost engines at the plant.

Ford has taken the wraps off its Transit Courier van during the CV show at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre.

The fourth and final member of the new Transit range is also the smallest, though with what Ford describes as class-leading loadspace.

Ford is making much of its light commercial van derivatives at motor shows these days.

Ford has revealed the price for the performance version of the new Fiesta range, the ST.

The car will go on sale in two trim levels, at £16,995 and £17,995.

Honda once heralded its entry to the diesel market by saying that it hated diesels.

Now, however, the brand claims to have an industry-leading four-cylinder turbodiesel engine.
