Driven Data shows car prices still rising – but only by £47

New car prices rose in May, but by just 0.167 per cent, according to new figures released by data specialist Driven Data.

The rise equates to £47 on the price of an average car, up from £28,159.00 to £28,206.00).

Motor industry gives thumbs up to Budget

The UK Budget delivered by Chancellor George Osborne in the House of Commons today has been welcomed by the country’s motor industry.

Headline measures include a 1p per litre cut in fuel duty from 6pm tonight, 23rd March, and the postponing of a planned 3.02p per litre increase from April to 1st January 2012.

Pricing trends revealed by new car price index

The average price of new cars in the UK fell month-on-month in November for the first time since May – but only by a tiny margin.

Year-on-year, the average price increased by just over 4%, but the underlying pace of inflation in car prices slowed – in stark contrast to the almost-10% increase between November 2008 and 2009.
